01 / Process & Criteria
Our Investment Process_

sector support, a demonstrable track record, and an experienced team.
1
Initial Approach
NZVIF welcomes approaches from Venture Capital Fund managers wanting to establish a fund and who are interested in seeking an investment commitment.
2
Formal Application
If initial discussions are satisfactory, prospective fund managers can make a formal application to NZVIF for an investment commitment to their new fund.
3
Due Diligence
NZVIF conducts a thorough review and due diligence process before making a final decision to invest or not. The fund has to raise at least matching capital from private investors before NZVIF will commit to the investment.
4
Fund Established
If approved, terms are agreed apon, the fund is then established and investments are commenced into technology company opportunities.
5
Fund Management
The venture capital funds are, typically ten year funds. Over the first five years, the fund managers assess and make investments into companies. Over the second five years, they work with and develop those companies before exiting their investments and returning the proceeds to investors.
